2019 National Wine Day 5k & 10k

It was a pleasure to be part of the 2019 National Wine Day 5K & 10K on May 25th. Proceeds from this event will benefit the EOD Warrior Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance and support to active-duty and veteran wounded, injured or ill EOD warriors and their families.

EOD stands for Explosive Ordnance Disposal, the disarming and disposal of bombs. There is an average of 7,000 women and men serving as EOD technicians. Their injuries are often severe and life-changing including loss of limbs, burns, paralysis, blindness, and traumatic brain injuries. Rehabilitation is not only costly but can be mentally discouraging. The EOD Warrior Foundation is a support community for these women and men providing them with hope for their future.

Runners received a tasting from the Tarara Winery upon finishing the race along with a finisher’s medal and event shirt.
